Preparing the 4317943 ice maker to replace the D7824706Q
Ice Maker 4317943 Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the white plastic cover (#18) (numbers refer to diagram included in
kit).
2. Unscrew bolt holding bracket at bottom of mold (#33) and replace the
bracket with the one off the original ice maker.
3. Pull out the wiring harness (#32) by using a screw driver to depress the
locking tab then slide out the connector.
4. Install the harness from the original ice maker.
5. Examine the fill cup (#22) on the old ice maker to determine the fill tube
orientation.
6. Use pliers to snap out the appropriate plastic knockout on the new ice
maker's fill cup (#22).
7. Put the cover (#18) back on and it is ready to mount to the refrigerator.
(On some refrigerators you may need to use your existing ice maker front cover)
On some Maytag and Amana side-by-side refrigerators where the ice maker is
located in the rear of the freezer, it is necessary to use your existing wiring
harness.
After you remove the front cover from the existing ice maker (#18)
remove the harness from the ice maker by depressing the tab that locks the
harness to the ice maker head.
Do not install the front cover until
after you connect the wiring harness to the new ice maker.
